Department of backscratching: Here is Paul Wells in his Inkless Wells blog at Maclean's, who was praising the Rebel Sell blog of new columnist Andrew Potter. And here is Potter, oozing admiration for Wells's recent roundup of the federal election, which Potter calls a "thoroughly rewarding first draft of history".

This has got to be intentional, at least on Potter's part!
His heading "logrolling in our time" was (as I recall) the heading on a regular front-of-the-book section in Spy magazine, where they used to pair up writers' mutual book-jacket blurbations.
Logrolling is still logrolling even when it ironically so labelled. But thanks for the connection, which I had not made.
