Tooting our own small horn

We were having such a busy time posting that we failed to notice as we passed one of those arbitrary mileposts sometime last week with our 1,000th post since the blog began in spring 2005. Currently, each month Canadian Magazines is averaging about 8,500 visitors and about 13,000 page views a month.

Why aren't you selling advertising?

You aren't the first one to ask. I can barely keep up with my own work and the blog as it is; no matter what, taking advertising requires time and management.

However, I am considering it.

It might also mean moving the blog elsewhere to have more flexibility than Blogger allows.

It would also be a shame to carry advertising if it had the effect of turning people off the site.

(Just as an aside, I earned 66 cents from AdSense yesterday. And I think that's American pennies!)

Great content D.B., you should be applauded for taking on such a worthy (and unpaid?) endeavor. I have now bookmarked this site and, along with Masthead, are the only sites I'll need to visit for my magazine news in Canada. Now, if you could convince certain industry associations to take such initiative and leadership...
