Brian Segal , CEO of Rogers Publishing, to be given honourary degree by Ryerson

Brian Segal, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Rogers Publishing, is to be given an honourary degree from Ryerson University during fall convocation, October 22. Not coincidentally, he was president of the university from 1980 to 1988 before becoming president of the University of Guelph.

Segal is one of seven people being given honourary degrees by Ryerson in 2008, including architect Peter Busby, Co-founder and Chair of the Canada Green Building Council, Dominic D'Alessandro, O.C., President and CEO, Manulife Financial, film director Norman Jewison, Founder of The Canadian Centre for Advanced Film Studies, philanthropist The Honourable Margaret Norrie McCain, Former Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick, Brenda Milner, Neuropsychologist, Cognitive Scientist, landscape architect and Ryerson alumna Janet Rosenberg and mathematician and computer scientist Lofti Asker Zadeh
